PERFORMANCE AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LABORATORY
As part of the local Miami performing arts women community, I would like to become an Artist in Residence, as I need a space to establish a theatrical laboratory where actors and actresses of any gender, age, or social status can collaborate with artificial intelligence platforms such as Google Bard, ChatGPT, Youchat, ChatSonic, and others. My intention is to generate a creative synergy between human creators and AI, using human premises as a foundation to develop diverse scenes, theatrical works, dialogues, and improvisations.
We firmly believe that the possibilities for innovation and artistic exploration are virtually limitless in this collaborative endeavor.
All scenes, works, dialogues, or improvisations will go on stage once developed and finished.
The laboratory will be developed through the Primer Acto Florida Foundation (PAFF), a non-profit organization whose mission is based on Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "everyone has the right to freely participate in the cultural life of the community, to share scientific advances and their benefits, and to get credit for their own work."
Since its launch in November 2022, ChatGPT has broken unexpected records. For example, it reached 100 million active users in January, just two months after its introduction, making it the fastest-growing consumer app ever. Source: invgate, March 2023.
Through the laboratory, we will investigate and understand Artificial Intelligence's capacity regarding performing arts texts as well as creativity.
Can AI be part of a collaborative creation with humans? Is it humans leading and AI collaborating, or is it AI leading and humans collaborating? How would a theatrical piece including AI as a creator be?
Through different exercises and experiences, the laboratory and its artists will answer those kinds of questions with the goal of going on stage to show the results.
Queca Gordillo, PAFF co-founder
Dear friends,
Thanks to the En Residencia program at the Koubek Center and PAFF (Primer Acto Florida Foundation), we have participated in a free and innovative acting + AI lab.
For the past few months, we have been working on scenes from classic theater, which we modified with various parameters through artificial intelligence.
If you want to see the surprising results, we will have showcases on:
- December 6
- December 13
At 7 PM at the Koubek Center.
Free admission until capacity is reached.

RESIDENCY PROGRAM
En Residencia reimagines the Koubek Center as an art incubator, a setting for discovery, growth, and artistic adventure for creators, arts organizations, and the community.
En Residencia is a membership-based program that offers local artists the opportunity to use our classroom and rehearsal studio for a pre-determined period of time throughout the entire year to create work in exchange for, on a case-to-case basis, participation in one of Koubek Center’s programs and/or activities.
The goal of the program is to nurture the cultural ecosystem of Miami by engaging local artists, regardless of the discipline in which they might be working or the stage in which they are in their careers while facilitating the dialogue between creators and the local community.
